Join the UK Ghost Nights Crew as we investigate the fascinating Brougham Hall Ghosts in Penrith under the cloak of darknesss………..
The hall and grounds are reportedly haunted by sounds of soldiers battling in the middle night, world war soldiers marching and various people who were employed at the property including a woman called Emily and a boy who died there. Henry Brougham who lived there in the nineteenth century was reported to be highly interested in spirituality and his spirit and that of his brother William are also said to have been felt by visitors.
Previous investigators have not lasted the night here due to some of the unnerving sights and sounds. A table has been said to have moved across a room and a rocking chair move on its own. There have also been the sounds of battle and there is said to be a ghostly monk who wanders with murderous intent…….
Brougham Hall is located just a mile south of Penrith and was built in the 14th century and rescued from dereliction in 1985, it is now the largest county house restoration project in England. It was the site of the last battle to be fought between Scotland and England.
