Matt Brookes Matt Brooks – The most handsome and brilliant member of UK Ghost Nights. (And most modest!).

Matt was born in Nottingham on October 16th 1987 during one of the worst storms in England, which some might say is quite an omen! He had an eventful but happy childhood, living with close family all around him and never really had a cause to feel alone.

When his Grandpa and Granddad passed away, he began to wonder why he never felt that they were really gone. He would sit and speak to them as though they were in the room with him, and at night felt somebody stroking his hair when he was alone. He eventually questioned his father about this, who told him it could be his Grandpa coming back and letting him know he’s still watching.

Matt started to get more and more interested in the idea of ghosts. He began reading magazines and watching TV programmes about the supernatural to learn as much about them whenever he could. He also realised that he became very sensitive of the atmospheres around him but couldn’t quite understand why at that time.

He set up a club at school for hunting ghosts, where he and some friends snuck into a few spooky places, and run away screaming when something would scare them. Unfortunately, they were caught crawling into a dilapidated old building in Burton Joyce where Matt lived, and a telling off from the Police was enough for the miniature ghost-hunters to disband their group.

After that point he remained fascinated about the paranormal, and always felt presences around him whether he was at home or out and about. However, he didn’t make any further attempts to investigate it until he had left school and was working at the Head Office of Boots. There he met a girl called Nikki and discovered that her aunt was an organiser for ghost hunting events. Together they organised one for their workplace to go to the Salutation Inn, and Matt found it to be the most eye-opening experience of his life. He met Dave and James on this ghost hunt and did many more ghost hunts with them before he was invited to join UK Ghost Nights as a volunteer.

Matt now enjoys discovering new locations for UK Ghost Nights to visit, as well as joining them on the ghost hunts and pushing his own psychic abilities.
