Event host and developing medium

Andy Hopkins Andy was born in November 1983. His first memory of seeing spirit was in the family home, he was aged 14. It was about 11pm when he felt someone or something was watching him from the corner of his bedroom. He recalls that he should of felt scared but he didn't, in fact he felt safe. He looked over to the corner and saw an old lady in a blue dress just standing there looking at him and smiling. Although he didn’t recognise the lady he felt a connection.

Being a curious young man he described the lady to his mother and he discovered the lady in question had died in his room and had lain in an open casket in the house. Although he didn't really understand why he had seen the lady, it didn't scare him. Following this he started seeing and feeling many more strange things in the house, from footsteps coming up the stairs to strange lights in the dark. This was the starting point of Andy's interest in all things paranormal.

Little else occurred for many years, until Andy's grandfather became ill and passed away. This didn't affect Andy as he thought it would, where as everyone else was mourning the loss. Following the funeral Andy felt his Granddad's presence around him most days. It was as though he was still alive, and he was, but not in the physical sense. He couldn't explain it so he just accepted.

As the years passed his interest in spirit and the paranormal kept growing and growing, and as the fascination grew he started doing paranormal experiments of his own, including Ouija boards, automatic writing and séances. All the experiments continued to fuel his new found passion, the spirit world and the paranormal. To help answer some of the many questions he had Andy and one of his friends decided that it would be interesting to go and see a medium. The medium they chose to see was UK Ghost Nights Dave Vickers.

The reading was, in Andy’s words, "Brilliant! Dave answered all the questions I had and gave excellent evidence that my Granddad was working with me". Andy was invited to attend Dave's open circle and through guidance surprised himself at the connection he had with spirit. After this, nothing could stop Andy from wanting to develop his own mediumship further and he signed up for Dave’s awareness course. From week one he made excellent progress with his connection and communication with spirit, the accuracy of his messages shocked him. Was the info really coming from spirit? He certainly believed it was. He started practicing his newly developed awareness on his friends and found it great to help out the people around him by giving messages for them from spirit.

To date he continues to develop his awareness under the guidance of Dave and has joined the UK Ghost Nights team as a host and developing medium.
